Common questions
I didn't get an alert when my egg was ready
Check that notifications are allowed: Settings → Notifications → Boil Buddy → Allow Notifications. Focus or Do Not Disturb modes can silence alerts. If the app is open when the timer ends, the alarm plays inside the app instead.
The alarm is too quiet
The in-app alarm follows your media volume, so turn it up before you start the timer. It plays even when the silent switch is on.
My own sound doesn't play on the lock screen
iPhone only lets notifications use sounds that ship inside an app. A sound you add plays inside the app. Lock-screen alerts use your phone's default notification sound instead.
Which audio files can I use?
MP3, M4A, AAC and WAV work. Files must be under 20 MB.
How do I change a timer?
Tap the pencil next to any level, adjust it in 30-second steps between 0:30 and 30:00, then tap Save. Reset brings back the default.
How do I change my egg character?
Tap the egg button under the speaker on the main screen, pick a group, then tap a character. Your choice is remembered.
